Inditex group heiress wants to build a luxury resort in Tróia

It is Sandra Ortega's first investment in Portugal and will be a tourism project with an area of around 30 thousand square meters. The resort will be built in the parish of Carvalhal, on the Tróia peninsula, on land purchased in 2018 from Sonae Capital for 50 million euros.

Speaking to the ECO, the Mayor of Grândola confirmed that the project «is in the final stage of assessing the infrastructure of the urbanization plan», explaining that several additional elements were requested from the responsible company. «If these elements are all correct, I believe that in the next few days, still during September, the project can be licensed,» he added. Once the project is licensed, the permit will be issued «and the owners can start with the works».

The first phase will correspond to infrastructure works, that is, the creation of roads/streets, installation of electricity and water. Only later will the construction of the buildings begin, whose architectural design will be subject to approval by the Municipality of Grândola.

The architectural project foresaw the construction of a five-star hotel, three tourist villages and two sports and leisure facilities, totaling 123 accommodation units and 506 beds. To the ECO, the Mayor of Grândola said that "this is maintained", with only the volumes being reduced.
