López Real Inversiones (LRI21), a development and investment vehicle specialising in retail property, has acquired the Jaca Shopping Centre in Huesca, Aragon, with a gross lettable area of approximately 13,500 sqm. It is the only shopping centre in the city, giving it “a dominant position in its catchment area”, according to Savills, which advised on the transaction.
The Jaca Shopping Centre is home to leading retailers such as Carrefour, Décimas, TEDi, Jysk and Forum, amongst others, forming a well-established and diversified retail offering. Although the centre has a long history, its unique character, combined with Jaca’s dynamism as a mountain tourism destination, offers an “interesting repositioning strategy” and the creation of value in the medium term by strengthening the asset’s growth potential and its ability to attract both local and visitor demand.
“This transaction enables us to generate new value opportunities and continue expanding our strategic portfolio in the retail sector”, emphasised Jordi Riu, CEO of LRI21.
For her part, Auxiliadora Martínez de Salazar, the company’s director of business development, highlighted the marketing of the asset as “a driving force that unlocks its potential with top-tier operators”.
In addition to large retail parks and shopping centres, LRI21 operates in other business lines including local retail parks, free-standing retail units and urban premises, healthcare and hotel developments, and logistics platforms.
