AEW has acquired a 26,700 sqm retail park within the Granaita shopping complex in Pulianas, in the province of Granada, from funds managed by Ares Management. The asset was bought off-market for the AEW Commerces Europe vehicle, and the price has not been disclosed.
The sale comes months after Ares bought nine retail parks in Spain from Castellana Properties for €279 million, with a combined GLA of 174,305 sqm. Granaita was part of that portfolio, in a deal announced in January and completed in April 2026.
In the breakdown of that transaction, Castellana attributed 55,917 sqm of GLA and a price of €89.93 million to Granaita. The area now reported for the asset acquired by AEW is 26,700 sqm.
AEW plans environmental improvements, including solar panels, additional electric vehicle charging points, rainwater harvesting and reuse systems, and sustainable landscaping. The complex already has 28 charging points, according to Pulianas Town Council.
According to the BREEAM register, Granaita Centro de Ocio holds an In-Use Excellent rating, while Granaita Retail Park has a Pass rating.
