Lidl invests €6M in new supermarket in Maia
LIDL MAIA BRÁS OLEIRO – ÁGUAS SANTAS.

There's a new Lidl shop in Maia. In an investment of six million euros, the supermarket chain is reinforcing its commitment to the north of the country by bringing to the municipality the new Maia Brás Oleiro - Águas Santas shop, built from scratch on the site of the old shop, which now has more space and a modernised design. In total, Maia has four shops, where Lidl employs 80 people.

The reconstruction of this shop involved the rehabilitation and widening of streets and pavements throughout the surrounding area, including the area next to the Brás Oleiro Palace. Pavements in Rua Padre Domingos de Sousa were also redesigned and car parking spaces were created, as well as a public square with a garden area. The car park includes 165 spaces, including one for heavy goods vehicles.

The new shop offers a better shopping experience, adapted to all customers and all types of purchase, both for weekly shopping and for quick daily purchases. The aisles are wider and the façade is entirely made of glass, which allows for more light and a wider, more comfortable shopping experience.

The commitment to sustainability has also been reinforced. This new shop favours the use of LED lighting, photovoltaic panels and an electric car charging station, which allows two cars to be charged simultaneously.
