UNIQ Residential and Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management (REIM) will develop a new residential project in Barcelona's 22@ district. The development will be located on a plot between Bolivia and Badajoz streets, next to Plaza de las Glòries, in the Poblenou neighbourhood, and will consist of a building with 60 flats.
This new development is a continuation of the collaboration between the two entities, which already worked together on the Casa Maury Pares project on Carrer Mallorca. That operation included 22 homes and a residence for the elderly with 104 beds.
The Glòries area is part of the 22@ district, an area that has been undergoing a process of transformation for more than two decades, where former industrial spaces have given way to new residential, business and service uses. The new development is part of this urban evolution, in an area with growing real estate activity. "The volume of initiatives we have promoted in this area reflects our commitment to its development," said Mario Chisholm, partner of Urban Input and member of the board of UNIQ.
Arnaud Andrieu, co-CEO of Edmond de Rothschild REIM, said that this new transaction "is in line with the firm's expansion strategy in Spain" and "demonstrates our confidence in the Barcelona residential market".
Urban Input, the parent company of UNIQ Residential, has been involved in various projects in the 22@ district, including more than 90,000 sqm of office space, a Build to Rent development, the Hotel Hoxton Poblenou and developments in Plaza de las Glòries.
Edmond de Rothschild REIM is a real estate investment platform with EUR 12,610 million in assets under management. Its activity is focused on equity and debt investments in sectors such as sustainable office, logistics and residential in Europe, with more than 150 professionals in eight offices in the UK, France, Benelux, Germany and Switzerland.
