Resa has presented its Strategic Plan 2025-2029 with the aim of adding at least 3,000 new beds to its current accommodation offer over the next four years. The strategy envisages an investment of 200 million euros to expand into cities with a high demand for student accommodation and to strengthen its presence in large cities such as Madrid and Barcelona.
The university residences operator plans to increase its presence from 22 cities to 30, diversifying its offer and services. Among recent projects, the company highlights the Resa Chamartín residence hall in Madrid, with 320 beds, and future openings in Valladolid, scheduled for September 2025, and Vitoria, which will be operational in the 2026/2027 academic year, adding 500 new beds. In the last five years, the company has expanded its portfolio with eight additional residences in Madrid, Malaga, Bilbao and Valencia.
The strategic plan also emphasises sustainability, energy efficiency and digitalisation. In 2024, Resa earmarked close to nine million euros to renovate its assets, adopting green technologies and environmentally friendly practices. In addition, it says it has invested ‘more than one million euros in energy efficiency in the last year, achieving 100% electricity consumption from renewable sources’.
The company has pledged to reduce its emissions by 46% over the next six years and to encourage eco-responsible behaviour among its residents, in collaboration with suppliers and public and private entities.
‘Spain has an opportunity to consolidate its position as a European university hub, and our residences are key to improving the quality of life of national and international students,’ says Marta Sánchez, CEO of Resa.
