Overseas is preparing to launch a €50 million investment to redevelop the Herdade das Pinas estate, located just seven kilometres from Estremoz, into a major hospitality and residential tourism complex. The scheme is among the largest ever announced in the municipality and is expected to generate around 100 new jobs.
The project will be delivered in two phases. The first involves a five-star hotel with spa, chapel, event and exhibition space, as well as a winery, cellar and wine shop. Porto-based architecture studio MassLab has been commissioned to design the scheme, covering 13,500 sqm of new construction. The estate’s existing residence and former agricultural warehouses will also be partly rehabilitated.
The second phase will add a cluster of tourist villas spanning 7,300 sqm, complementing the hotel offer. The entire development has been designed with a strong sustainability focus and is targeting nZEB classification, aiming for net-zero or near-zero carbon emissions.
The project will be formally presented on 9 September at Rossio Marquês in Estremoz, with the participation of Pedro Vicente, CEO of Overseas, Diogo Sousa Rocha, founding architect of MassLab, and José Daniel Sádio, Mayor of Estremoz.
