SIMED 2024, Malaga.

Malaga will once again take centre stage in the national property scene with a new edition of Simed, the Mediterranean Property Exhibition, which will be held from 13 to 15 November. With an offering that exceeded 9,000 homes in 2024, Simed reinforces its role as a benchmark platform for public-private collaboration, identifying trends in living and promoting innovation. Organised by FYCMA (Malaga Trade Fair and Congress Centre), part of Malaga City Council, the event promotes new business opportunities and encourages the creation of strategic alliances in the sector.

This year it is hosting a new conference, the 'Living in Evolution' forum, co-organised with Iberian Property, to address the concept of habitability and the foundations of living in the future. The meeting will focus on the premium residential market and the flexible housing model, or flex living, on Thursday 13 November.

Among the experts participating in the sessions are Sergio Arana, Director of Real Estate in Spain at Urbanitae; Roberto Cabrera, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker at Brown Harris Stevens Residential Sales; Javier Reguart, Managing Director of Alatus Residential Services; Setareh Mohregi, director of the International Department at Gilmar Real Estate; Jesús Rodríguez Maseda, director of Strategic Consulting at Savills; Araceli Martín-Navarro, president of Coword; Cova Sanz, Head of Asset Management Europe at Rockfield Real Estate; Jorge Pereda, Country Manager Living Spain at Grupo Lar; and Alexandre Lima, director of Iberian Property.

The vision of the leaders

Also on 13 November, Simed will hold a new 'Simed-ACP Málaga Meeting Point', organised in conjunction with the Provincial Association of Builders and Developers of Málaga (ACP Málaga) and with the participation of the CEOs and executives of the country's leading property developers and managers. The session will offer a strategic vision of the present and future of the residential market, analysing factors such as financing, sustainability and buyer trends. Prominent figures will participate, including Alberto Quemada, CEO of LandCo; Antonio Truan, Director of Spain and Portugal at Ginkgo Advisor; Borja García-Egotxeaga, CEO of Neinor Homes; Francisco Javier Pérez Medina, CEO of Culmia; Javier Braza, CEO of Lagoom Living; Jorge Pérez de Leza, CEO of Metrovacesa; Sergio Gálvez, CEO of AQ Acentor; and Tomás Gasset, CEO of Urbania.

Other pioneering and strategic meetings to be held at the fair include the Public-Private Partnership Forum, which has already become a benchmark in Spain and will once again bring together administrations and companies to discuss how to promote housing development in a scenario where public funding is essential. At the same time, the 3rd International Meeting on Protected, Social and Affordable Housing, organised by the Municipal Housing Institute of Malaga, the AVS (Spanish Association of Public Housing and Land Managers) and Housing Europe, will address the need to expand the affordable housing supply through stable collaboration models.

Simed is organised by FYCMA, part of Malaga City Council. For more information, visit www.simedmalaga.com.
