Belgian logistic developer and operator VGP has acquired a 20.000 sqm industrial parcel in Martorel (Barcelona), less than 30 km away from Barcelona and with connections to the port, airport and motorways A-2 and A-7. VGP will invest 9 million euro to develop a new 10.000 sqm logistic project on this parcel in the short-term.
This operation, advised by Colliers, is part of the Belgian company’s strategy to expand its portfolio in Spain. Currently, the logistic firm owns more than 1 million sqm in Spain, where 9 industrial and logistic parks located in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Cordoba, Bilbao and Zaragoza are being developed.
Joan Lacosta, country manager at VGP Spain, assured that «Martorell is an excellent location, not only for its magnificent connections to Barcelona, France and the Iberian Peninsula, but also for the strong industrial character of its surroundings and its closeness to large consumer hubs».
