LeiriaShopping, opened in 2010, has a 44.400 sqm total GLA and 117 commercial spaces. This was the fifth shopping centre DWS acquired in Portugal, adding to Alma, in Coimbra, Alameda Shop & Spot, in Porto, Nosso Shopping, in Vila Real, and Forum Madeira, in Funchal, it can be read in the press release.
Daniel Gálvez, real estate leader for Spain and Portugal at DWS, comments that «with this acquisition, DWS maintains its focus on acquiring dominant shopping centres with excellent performances in the Iberian Peninsula. We will keep looking for new investment opportunities in Portugal, in particular central office buildings, shopping centres and logistic assets», he guarantees.
Concerning this sale, Fernando Guedes de Oliveira, Sonae Sierra’s CEO, remarks in a release that «we are very happy with this transaction, which is an important landmark in implementing Sonae Sierra’s strategy and evidence of the high quality of the assets we invest in».
Sonae Sierra will keep managing and marketing the building.
