The average number of house mortgages went up 6.4% compared to March 2016, up to 114,469 euros, while the total capital lent went up 27.9% over the year, to more than 3.173 million euros.
Compared monthly (February to March), mortgages went up 13.9%, and the total amount of capital loaned went up 12.5%.
By autonomous community, and looking at March registrations, the areas with the greatest number of mortgages were Andalucía (5,070), Madrid (4,716) and Cataluña (4,574).
In the third month of the year, house mortgages went up in all the communities compared to 2016 except in the Canary Islands, where they went down by 42%. The regions with the biggest increases were the Balearics (+74.8%), Asturias (+66.5%) and Cantabria (+46.8%).
