SEF’s (Foreigners and Borders Service) numbers to which Portuguese news agency Lusa had access showed that 52 visas were issued in May, 46 of which through the acquisition of real estate (11 of which for urban renewal). 24 were issued to Chinese citizens, 4 to South-Africans, 3 to Canadians, 3 to Americans and to 2 Vietnamese.
During this year’s first 5 months, 378 golden visa were issued, for a total investment of 201.1 million euro, a 31.5% yoy drop.
Since their inception in 2012, Golden Visa have attracted more than 5.849 billion euro in foreign investment.
