Acquired by AXA Real Estate in 2015, for 40 million euros, the building will be subjected to a complete renovation. The work will be the responsibility of the owner and of Room Mate Hotels, and will follow plans submitted by the architect, Tomas Alíaserá.
This will be the sixth Room Mate hotel in Madrid, the company currently having 22 hotels in six countries, with six new openings in the pipeline planned for the next two years in locations such as Madrid, Barcelona and Rotterdam, and after which the chain will increase their total number of rooms to 4,000.
