Savills has completed the sale of the largest commercial property situated on Málaga’s main thoroughfare. The property, which until now belonged to an international investment fund, has been acquired by a private Catalan investor in a transaction advised by Laborde Marcet.
Although the final transaction value has not been disclosed, the property stands out for its strategic location within the city’s historic centre.
The property is situated in Plaza Félix Sáenz, which connects Calle Larios with the Atarazanas area. Furthermore, the property forms part of a historic building constructed in 1912 and situated on the site of the former Mercado de Abastos.
The premises have a total floor area of 1,935 sqm, comprising a ground floor of 847 sqm and a first floor of 1,088 sqm. The space is currently leased to the Druni perfumery chain.
Juan Pedro Hernández, Director of High Street Retail at Savills Andalucía, notes that private investors have a sustained interest in prime assets. He also states that Málaga is more active than ever on the retail investment map.
