Patrizia has acquired eight retail properties in Spain as part of a portfolio of 24 assets across three European markets, with ten in Italy and six in France. Together, the stores total around 50,000 sqm. The price has not been disclosed.
The properties are newly built and fully let to Lidl through its local operating companies, on long-term leases with rents linked to the consumer price index (CPI).
The acquisition expands Patrizia’s investment presence in southern Europe and is part of its food retail strategy. The manager has more than two decades of experience in this segment and manages a European portfolio of more than 600 retail assets worth over €4 billion, more than half of which are food retail properties.
“The food retail segment continues to offer attractive investment opportunities, especially when the quality of the real estate and the strength of the operators allow for sustainable long-term income. It also benefits from structural trends such as urbanisation and the need for well-located essential retail. This portfolio fits fully with our strategy, adding high-quality assets in three important European markets”, noted Christie Wright, Co-Head of Investment Management at Patrizia.
Patrizia has €56.2 billion of assets under management across real estate and infrastructure, according to its 2025 results.
