The palace Quinta de Roma, located in the centre of Guimarães, was acquired by a business group with a strong international presence. The operation, carried out by dipe, was formalised in the first weeks of the year.
"This is an asset with unique characteristics. Due to the uniqueness of the location and the building, but also due to its surroundings, we knew that this property has enormous potential both for collective housing projects and for tourism and hotels", explains Diogo Baptista Antunes, CEO of dipe, a real estate company with 27 years of experience in the market, in which the property was listed for 3 million euros.
With the Castle and Paço dos Duques as a backdrop, two of the most visited monuments in northern Portugal, the famous palace of Quinta de Roma is set in a plot of over 7,500 sqm, has several complementary buildings and also a surrounding garden with water fountains and an artificial lake.
According to dipe imobiliária, the placement of the property aroused huge interest and resulted in a shortlist of four potential buyers. "We reached a due-diligence stage with a very specific range of investors, two international hotel chains, a business group with a strong international presence and a reference property developer in Portugal," concludes Diogo Baptista Antunes.
