Avintia Inmobiliaria has been awarded the public concession for the construction and operation of housing on two publicly owned plots in Zaragoza. The concession, promoted by the Government of Aragon through its Department of Development, Housing, Logistics and Territorial Cohesion, will last for 75 years.
The scope of the project comprises a total of 496 homes, 319 parking spaces and 131 storage rooms, which will be developed on a built area of 31,850 sqm. The project is part of the autonomous community's housing plan, which aims to increase the supply of public housing in the Aragonese capital.
Of the total number of homes planned, 293 will be located on Calle Luis Pinilla, in the Picarral neighbourhood, and the remaining 203 on Avenida de Cataluña. In terms of typology, the residential programme includes 120 one-bedroom homes (70 in Picarral and 50 on Avenida de Cataluña), 319 two-bedroom homes (189 and 130, respectively) and 57 three-bedroom homes (34 in Picarral and 23 on Avenida de Cataluña).
The developments will be carried out using an industrialised construction system developed by Grupo Avintia. According to the data provided, this model reduces construction and delivery times by 30%, construction waste by up to 75%, water consumption by 20%, the use of raw materials and concrete by up to 50%, noise pollution by 50% and CO2 emissions by 40%.
Roberto Campos, managing director of Avintia Inmobiliaria, pointed out that the award is part of the company's strategy of collaborating with public administrations to develop affordable rental housing.
With this project, the company is expanding its portfolio of affordable rental developments, which exceeds 6,000 homes in various stages of development. In addition to its residential activity, the company has a hotel portfolio of more than 1,000 rooms and develops projects in other segments such as care homes and flex living through industrialised solutions.
