Santa Cruz de Tenerife sells the Auditorium building for €22M

The Extraordinary Governing Board of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved the agreement for the sale of the 'Auditorio' building, the last step to formalise, once the land registry has been completed, all the formalities with the Canary Islands Government for the purchase and sale of this property, an operation which is expected to be concluded before the end of the year.

The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez recalls that "this building located in Cabo Llanos, comes to respond to the needs of this City Council by several judicial agents in this capital to become future judicial headquarters" and emphasizes that "has been the result of the development of various meetings between both parties to determine the procedure and compile the necessary documentation to formalize this sale by the City Council to the Government of the Canary Islands".

For his part, the councillor for Municipal Assets, Juan José Martínez, maintains that "in July, after meetings between the Town Hall and the judicial groups in the province, the Canary Islands Government formalised its interest in the building in writing to the Town Hall", adding that "on the instructions of the mayor, we gave priority to this operation to respond to a demand from the different judicial bodies in view of the immediate need for more space to carry out their work", Martínez added.

The approved dossier takes into account the technical report of the Heritage Service, whose technical department issues a valuation of the building of 22,057. 22,057,736.01 euros, with IGIC, "and whose payment will be made in four instalments, although the Government of the Canary Islands can modify the division or reduce the deferral, without this entailing a change in the price," said Martínez.

To conclude, Bermúdez expressed his satisfaction "for the predisposition of this government group to contribute to improving the working conditions of the professionals in the judicial sector and of the citizens who use it" and reminded that "this is the last administrative step towards the full disposal of the building, the purchase and sale of which we hope will be concluded before the end of the year" and he added that "on the other hand, it should be noted that the capital is also collaborating with the Canary Islands Government in the future City of Justice, which will be located precisely in the same area as the Auditorium building".
