RPE Portugal announces sale of Monsanto Building in Alfragide

RPE Portugal has sold the Monsanto Building, located in Alfragide, to an independent national fund representing a Portuguese institutional owner.

Formerly the headquarters of Carrefour, this office building, with an area of 7,400 square metres, is strategically positioned in the centre of the business and commercial district of Alfragide, adjacent to Leroy Merlin and the Alegro Alfragide shopping centre. In 2020, the building underwent a thorough renovation, reaching quality standards of excellence, and now serves as Aldi's headquarters.

"Despite the current climate of caution in the office investment market across Europe, there remains a solid case for acquiring strategic assets that fulfil modern tenant requirements," says Tim Seconde, Head of Capital Markets at RPE.

He adds that "cities like Lisbon continue to maintain healthy office occupancy, and the challenge of remote working is not affecting vacancy rates in the same way as in major cities. We are proud to have completed this transaction on behalf of our client in today's market and are committed to continuing to operate in the office sector."
