Ibervalles has leased its building at 506 Calle Alcalá in Madrid to Udit. The University of Design, Innovation and Technology (Udit) will occupy the entire building, whose comprehensive refurbishment is in its final phase. With more than 7,000 square metres, the asset aims to become a new standard in educational and corporate spaces.

Udit plans to open the new campus in the academic year 2024-2025, offering degrees in the areas of Technology, Innovation and Applied Sciences.

In addition to its excellent location, with easy access via metro, bus and bicycle, the building is strategically located opposite the Quinta de los Molinos Park, providing a unique environment that combines urban life with nature. The refurbishment is designed by the architectural firm Tetris and executed by the construction company Construcía, being meticulously adapted to current market demands, the firm said in a statement.

As a result of the transformation, the building has obtained important certifications: WiredScore Gold, which evaluates connectivity and digital quality; LEED Platinum certification, which recognises energy efficiency and environmental sustainability; and WELL Gold certification, which guarantees the health and comfort of its occupants.

The transaction, brokered by JLL and with legal advice from EY, is a significant milestone for Ibervalles. "This lease represents an important step in our asset repositioning strategy, providing them with the highest standards in sustainability and technology," says Javier Isidro Mosquera, CEO of Ibervalles. "By housing a university, we will contribute to boosting the economic and social development of the district," he adds.

For the university, it is "a very important step towards our future with the announcement of the opening of a new building dedicated to all degrees in the area of technology, innovation and applied sciences," explains Juan Cayón, rector of UDIT. "This milestone represents a spectacular growth in space for our institution and a renewed commitment to academic excellence and cutting-edge technology. In this sense, our new Campus will provide us with state-of-the-art facilities, foster interdisciplinary collaboration and allow us to strengthen our leading position in university education specialising in design, innovation and technology," he concludes.
