Wecity has exceeded €250 million in property financing since its creation in 2021. The platform, which operates in Spain and Portugal, has reached this figure after completing the financing of 189 projects, according to the company.
Specifically, Wecity puts the total amount financed at €252 million. 87.9% of the projects are in the residential segment, while the remainder is divided between assets such as hotels (4.2%), flex living (3.1%) and student accommodation (0.3%), amongst other uses.
The company attributes this growth to a context of reduced availability of bank credit for certain phases of property development. According to the Bank of Spain’s financial stability data for May, cited by Wecity, the expansion of property lending remains at moderate levels relative to GDP.
In 2025 alone, the platform financed €101 million, compared to the €58 million recorded in 2024. This growth is taking place in a market where alternative financing is gaining ground in transactions linked to land purchases, bridge financing and regeneration projects.
Antonio Mañas, CEO of Wecity, has pointed out that reaching €252 million “shows that crowdfunding is becoming established” and added that, in a context where banks have a limited presence in critical stages of development, the platform brings “agility and confidence” to the market.
Looking ahead to the second half of 2026, the company anticipates increased activity in the residential segment, particularly in direct development and build-to-rent. It also notes growing interest in alternative assets linked to new demand models, such as student accommodation, hotels, flex living and co-living.
