The operation was made public today, according to a notice from the Portuguese Competition Authority published this Thursday morning in the Portuguese press. The announcement states that the operation consists of the acquisition of exclusive control by Draycott Capital, SA over the companies Square Asset Management, SA and Square Asset Management II Consulting, Lda.
With twenty years of activity, a market share of 13%, more than 2.5 billion euros in assets under management and winner of the MSCI award 15 times in a row, Square Asset Management, SGOIC, S.A. is one of the largest open-ended real estate fund management companies in Portugal. The company's current CEO, Pedro Coelho, is one of the company's founders.
Founded in 2019 by João Coelho Borges, Draycott is a venture capital company that currently invests in four areas: equity consolidation & buyouts, real estate development and yield, venture capital and growth & innovation. In recent months, the company has been particularly active, completing several acquisitions in the different areas.
