Benoît du Passage, one of the key figures behind the growth of JLL in Spain, France and across southern Europe, has passed away at the age of 70. His career began in 1985 at Jones Lang Wootton and saw him go on to establish JLL’s Barcelona office in 1988, before serving as CEO and later Chairman of JLL France until 2022. He was also Chairman and CEO of the consultancy in Spain, a role he took on in 2015, based at the Madrid office.
At the same time, he held the position of Managing Director for Southern Europe, overseeing operations in Spain, Portugal and Italy. As a member of the European Management Committee, he also assumed responsibility for Turkey, the Middle East and Africa.
A highly respected and renowned professional, Benoît has supported numerous institutions and companies through various market cycles. He also served as Chairman of FNAIM Entreprises for six years.
In Spain, Benoît du Passage played a key role in the creation of the Association of Real Estate Consultants (ACI) and in its early years, contributing to its initial momentum and the development of a model based on collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional rigour.
“His career, marked by a broad market vision and a constant commitment to excellence, left a significant mark on the development of property consultancy in Spain and the consolidation of quality standards in the sector,” ACI emphasises.
