Hispavima is to develop a new logistics centre in Alicante

Hispavima, a company specialising in the development of real estate projects, will develop a new logistics centre located on the Ocaña road in Alicante. The project will be built on a turnkey basis for the company Conway - The Convenience, responsible for supplying different restaurant chains, which will subsequently lease the warehouse for a long period of time.

The new logistics centre, located on a 13,235 square metre plot recently acquired by Hispavima, will have a floor area of 5,903 square metres. It will have a clear height of 14.5 metres, allowing five levels of pallets to be stored at height.

The warehouse, conceived as a high turnover distribution centre, will have frozen and positive cold chambers and an ambient area for distribution to the HORECA channel and convenience stores.

The project has been developed on the basis of all sustainability and environmental criteria, which is why it has "BREEAM Very Good" certification. In addition, it will have a photovoltaic installation that will allow the self-supply of electricity for 50% of the power required for the refrigeration installation.

Jorge Truchado, Hispavima's director of logistics and land, pointed out that the project has already obtained a building permit and construction has begun, with a commitment to deliver it in May 2024, prior to the peak period of the tourist season required by the operator.

The project has been developed based on all the sustainability and environmental criteria and has been awarded the "BREEAM Very Good" certification.

This is the second project developed by Hispavima in Alicante, where more than 40 million euros will have been invested between projects executed and under development, consolidating this location as one of the most important in the segment of logistics projects that serve customers in the HORECA channel, supported by the extraordinary tourism data of the Costa Blanca.

Jorge Truchado also underlined that "we are particularly satisfied with the agreement with CONWAY, as cold storage is one of the fastest growing segments in logistics, which also requires the project to be located as close as possible to the city centre, in order to provide its customers with a local delivery service, which, together with the needs for electrical power, building height and timeframe, has been a new challenge for Hispavima".

For his part, Pedro Giménez, Conway's general manager, pointed out that "the development of the new high turnover distribution centre in Alicante will form part of an ambitious transformation plan for our network that will respond to the needs of our customers and their development plans, as well as being an important asset with which to realise growth opportunities in our sectors of activity".

This transaction has been advised by the real estate consultancy JLL.

"As advisors, JLL has worked with Hispavima to help them identify and realise the best opportunities throughout Spain. Thanks to the new asset located in Alicante, Conway will improve its logistics processes in the last mile with the HORECA channel, will be able to adjust its needs to the maximum detail and meet its service and sustainability objectives" concludes Adriana Gorri, Director of Markets at JLL Spain.
