Goodman and SEUR to invest €150M in a new logistics hub in Getafe

Goodman and SEUR have officially started work on the Getafe Terminal Logistics Centre, a new logistics hub that will involve a joint investment of more than 150 million euros. The future facility, which will be the nerve centre for SEUR's operations in Spain, will be located on a 100,000 sqm plot of land and will be operational in the third quarter of 2026.

The ceremony to lay the first pillar was attended by authorities such as Sara Hernández, Mayor of Getafe, and José María García Gómez, Deputy Minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid, as well as representatives of both companies: Ignacio García Cuenca, Country Manager of Goodman Spain, and David Sastre Segovia, CEO of SEUR.

The facility, located 13 kilometres from the centre of Madrid and next to the Getafe Industrial train station, will consist of two floors and will house three SEUR business units: last mile delivery (with capacity for 300 vehicles), national and international cross-docking operations for trailers and duo-trailers, and a specific area for refrigerated product logistics.

The new hub will have an initial capacity to handle between 300,000 and 450,000 parcels per day and will be adaptable to future market demands. Goodman estimates that the development will generate 600 direct jobs and up to 1,000 indirect jobs, which will boost economic activity in Getafe and the surrounding area.

From an environmental point of view, the project will be in line with the climate objectives of SEUR, which is part of Geopost and aims to achieve zero net emissions by 2040, being the only logistics operator in the sector to be recognised by the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative. To achieve this, Goodman plans to reduce carbon emissions by 30% during the construction phase through the use of sustainable materials and optimised processes, and has designed a 4MW solar PV facility, which will help reduce operational emissions over the life cycle of the asset.

In addition, the infrastructure will have BREEAM Excellent and VALORIZA certifications, the latter focused on the total recovery of waste generated during construction.

For Ignacio García Cuenca, the project is ‘an example of how to respond to the needs of clients seeking versatile assets in strategic locations to gain operational agility’, also highlighting the collaboration with local authorities. For his part, David Sastre stressed that this investment ‘represents the central axis of SEUR's growth plan’ and reinforces the company's commitment to sustainability and job creation.
