EQT Exeter buys a 12,900 sqm warehouse in Barcelona's third logistics district

EQT Exeter, one of the world's largest global real estate investment managers, has completed the purchase of a 12,900 sqm industrial warehouse in Barcelona's third logistics district. The asset, located in one of the region's key logistics sub-markets, is occupied by a leading multinational company which uses the warehouse as its corporate headquarters and European distribution centre.

Savills has been in charge of closing the deal, and points out that the location and the low availability that characterises the Catalan logistics market makes this type of investment operation safe. According to its data, logistics contracting in the Barcelona area has reached 330,000 square metres in the first half of 2023 and supply in the region remains at around 2%, mainly concentrated in a few warehouses located in the third ring.

Gloria Valverde, director of industrial logistics at Savills Barcelona, explains that "the current market situation and the new logistics strategies for all sectors continue to consolidate and offer opportunities with quality warehouses and first-rate users to investors focused on Catalonia, given its fundamentals and the growth prospects of the logistics sector".
