GLP Spain has signed an agreement with BigMat to lease a 22,380 sqm logistics warehouse in G-Park Getafe, south of Madrid. The property will become the company's new logistics centre in the central region, from where it will manage its supply network in Spain.
BigMat, with more than 900 affiliated companies and 1,200 points of sale in seven European countries, has more than 35 years of experience in the construction and renovation sector. From the new platform in Getafe, the company will coordinate the shipment of materials and products to its points of sale in the central area and other regions. This centre will be integrated into the company's national distribution network, which currently has three operational platforms. The warehouse will begin operations in January 2026, with the aim of improving the group's logistical efficiency.
G-Park Getafe has BREEAM Outstanding certification, which accredits its energy efficiency and use of renewable energies. According to GLP data, CO2 emissions will be reduced by up to 93.6% and energy demand by 48% thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels. In addition, energy consumption will be reduced by 92.3% and water consumption by 81.6% through a rainwater recovery system.
The building incorporates measures aimed at the health and well-being of users, such as high-efficiency ventilation systems and low-emission materials. It also includes measures to promote biodiversity, such as the installation of bird nests and the planting of native vegetation.
With this lease, GLP expands the occupancy of its logistics park in Spain, which now comprises more than 12 buildings and a total area of nearly 450,000 sqm.
