The property developer Montebalito has announced its intention to develop a new boutique hotel in the historic centre of El Cotillo, in the municipality of La Oliva, on Fuerteventura.
The future establishment will be located near Muelle Chico Beach, one of the most renowned spots in this coastal town. The hotel will have a total of 14 rooms, reinforcing its intimate and personalised character. It will also feature amenities such as a restaurant, swimming pool, sun terrace and a rooftop area designed to allow guests to enjoy the island’s surroundings and climate.
The hotel’s concept responds to an increasingly widespread trend in the sector: smaller-scale accommodation, greater privacy and personalised services. This type of offering is aimed at travellers who prioritise the authenticity of the destination over large hotel complexes, opting for more carefully curated stays and more immersive experiences.
The project forms part of the company’s strategy to continue expanding its presence in the tourism sector of the Canary Islands, where it has several projects under development in the tourism and property sectors. Montebalito currently has two further hotel projects underway in the archipelago: one in Mogán, Gran Canaria, which is a mixed-use hotel and residential development, and another in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria focused exclusively on hotel use. It is also developing a project in Seville.
The company, founded in 1972 and listed on the continuous market since 2006, currently has assets valued at over €110 million and concentrates part of its activity in the country’s main cities. Its presence in the Canary Islands forms part of a strategy of geographical diversification and a commitment to established tourist markets.
