Mohari Hospitality has become the sole owner of the hotel currently operated by Four Seasons and located in Centro Canalejas, Madrid, as well as the retail space leased to Hermès and the associated car park. Financial details have not been disclosed.
Mohari and OHLA have been co-owners of the Canalejas complex since 2017. Following this transaction, both companies will continue to hold ownership of different parts of the property.
The Four Seasons Hotel Madrid opened in 2020 as the chain’s first property in Spain. With this acquisition, Mohari now has full control of one of the hotel assets linked to the redevelopment of Centro Canalejas Madrid, a complex located in the heart of the capital.
“From the outset, we saw Madrid as one of Europe’s most attractive luxury markets and, within the city, Centro Canalejas Madrid as one of its most iconic assets,” says Mark Scheinberg, founder and Principal of Mohari Hospitality. “Taking ownership allows us to continue shaping the property’s long-term trajectory, consolidating our long-standing relationship with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and ensuring its long-term stability.”
The operation comes at a time when tourism activity in Madrid is on the rise. The capital welcomed 839,705 visitors in February, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute. Of this figure, 463,583 were international visitors, representing an annual increase of 12.5% and accounting for 55% of the total.
Spending by international tourists in Madrid reached €1.166 billion in February, 2.46% more than in the same month of 2025. In the first two months of the year combined, spending amounted to €2.775 billion, a 9.7% year-on-year increase.
