Grupo Inversor Hesperia has finalised the acquisition of the La Zambra hotel, a five-star luxury hotel situated in the heart of the Costa del Sol, from Intriva Capital. The transaction reinforces the group’s growth strategy in the luxury segment and strengthens its presence in Andalusia.

The history of La Zambra dates back to 1986, when it opened its doors as the Byblos Hotel, a meeting place for European royalty, international artists and the jet set of the time. Nestled between Málaga and Marbella, in the heart of Andalusia, the hotel stands on a hill between two 18-hole golf courses designed by architect Robert Trent Jones.

Following an extensive refurbishment undertaken by Intriva Capital and with interiors designed by the Esteva i Esteva studio, the hotel was reborn in 2022 as La Zambra, featuring 197 rooms and suites, a 2,000 sqm spa inspired by traditional Andalusian hammams, and four dining venues: Picador, Bamboleo, Palmito and La Bartola. La Zambra is marketed under the brand The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.

The group will continue to promote the property’s international positioning, enhancing its dining, wellness and golf offerings to establish it as one of the leading resorts in the Mediterranean.

“La Zambra is one of those hotels that rarely come onto the market. It combines an extraordinary history, an exceptional location and enormous potential for value creation. We are very proud to welcome it into the Hesperia Group and are convinced that it will become one of the leading names in luxury tourism in Spain”, said Jordi Ferrer, CEO of Grupo Inversor Hesperia.

The buyer was advised on the property transaction by Colliers and received legal advice from Garrigues during the due diligence process.

The acquisition of La Zambra comes at a particularly strong time for the Hesperia Group, which closed 2025 as its best financial year ever, with a turnover of €206 million and a record profit of €38 million. In the first half of 2026, the hotel group has maintained this positive momentum, with a turnover of €105 million, 7% higher than the same period last year.

The group has 22 properties in its portfolio in Spain and manages them through its management company, Hesperia World, under its own brand and third-party brands, including Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt and Secrets.
