GuimaGold has unveiled the GuimaGold Palace, a four-star hotel currently under construction in Caldas das Taipas, in the municipality of Guimarães. With a total investment of around €9 million, construction is already around 60% complete, and the hotel is due to be finished by 2030.
The hotel, situated next to the historic Termas das Taipas and it’s close to the historic centres of Guimarães and Braga, will comprise 33 suites across the Deluxe and Royal Suite categories. Guests will also have access to a restaurant, a wine cellar dedicated to Portuguese wines and a multi-purpose room with capacity for 50 people. Additional facilities will include a spa, indoor swimming pool, spa circuit, sauna, Turkish bath, massage rooms and gym. The rooftop will feature a bar, a swimming pool and several lounge areas.
The building will feature a façade clad in golden ceramic panels, based on an architectural design by Lourenço Nuno Mendes Arquitetos. The interior design concept was developed in collaboration with Alberto Sousa Interiores, with the involvement of Paulo Rodrigues.
“The GuimaGold Palace stems from the ambition to set a new benchmark for premium hospitality in northern Portugal. We didn’t want to build just another hotel, but rather a destination where architecture, gastronomy, wellbeing, culture and excellent service come together to offer a truly unique experience”, said Paulo Rodrigues, CEO of Group JRC.
