Edgar Suites has acquired a property on Carrer del Bany, in the Ciutat Vella district of Valencia, to develop an aparthotel with a total planned investment of €14.8 million. The transaction marks the French firm’s fourth investment in Spain since it entered the country in 2025 and its second in Valencia.
The property, with a floor area of over 2,000 sqm, will be developed on a turnkey basis and will feature studios and one-bedroom units, with a capacity equivalent to 60 hotel rooms and space for 134 guests. It is scheduled to open in March 2027.
The project will be the first that Edgar Suites brings into operation in the Spanish market and will precede the property announced in the Botànic neighbourhood, also in Valencia, which is due to open in the second quarter of 2027.
Since its arrival in Spain, the firm has committed nearly €60 million to a portfolio of 243 rooms spread across four developments: two in Valencia and two in Málaga. Its business combines property investment and operational management of assets designed for short- and medium-term stays.
“This acquisition represents a key strategic step for Edgar Suites in Spain and once again highlights our belief in Valencia’s potential as one of the most attractive city destinations for our model. We are once again investing in the city because it fits perfectly with our expansion strategy, combining strong fundamentals for urban tourism, notably a high average length of stay, growing international visibility and a diversified demand base”, said Casilda Mulliez, Director of Expansion for Spain and Portugal.
“This new acquisition in Valencia is fully in line with our expansion strategy in Spain’s main tourist destinations. We are particularly pleased to be able to establish a presence in such a unique location as Ciutat Vella, in a city where we have already identified strong potential and where we continue to see opportunities for long-term growth”, commented Xavier O’Quin, chairman of Edgar Suites.
