Vila Galé Collection Paço do Curutelo to open to the public in 2025

A nearly 900-year-old castle in Ponte de Lima is to be reborn as a hotel and wine tourism and vinho verde production project. In an investment of 20 million euros by the Vila Galé group, the Vila Galé Collection Paço do Curutelo will open to the public in 2025.

The castle of Curutêlo, located in Ponte de Lima, in the district of Viana do Castelo, was acquired in 2022. The new tourist project, which covers an area of 57 hectares, is being developed in partnership with businessman Antônio Parente, of the Madre group.

The new hotel will have 69 rooms, outdoor swimming pools for adults and children, a Satsanga Spa & Wellness, an events hall for 600 people, two restaurants, a library, a chapel and a museum space dedicated to the history of the area, as well as a winery and vineyard.

The Vila Galé group's regional director of operations, Carlos Alves, commented: "The Vila Galé group is committed to the development of the country's inland regions, generating employment that will enable people to settle, promoting growth and reducing asymmetries".
