CaixaBank and the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT) have renewed their partnership agreement to provide financing to the sector through a €2.8 billion credit line for tourist accommodation in Spain.
The funding will be available to the more than 16,000 establishments belonging to CEHAT, including hotels, holiday apartments, campsites, resorts and spas. According to both organisations, the aim is to provide resources for investments, refurbishments, asset acquisitions and the working capital needs of companies in the sector.
The credit line will be managed through CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism, the financial institution’s specialist division for the tourism industry. The agreement also provides access to financial products and services tailored to the specific needs of companies operating in this sector.
According to data provided by CEHAT, the companies represented by the trade association account for around 1.8 million accommodation beds and generate nearly 500,000 direct and indirect jobs in Spain.
The renewal of the agreement comes at a time of high investment activity in the Spanish hotel market. According to figures released by CaixaBank, the bank arranged €4.3 billion worth of financing for the tourism sector in 2025, an increase of 8.5% on the previous year.
Through this initiative, CaixaBank and CEHAT are continuing a partnership aimed at facilitating access to finance for the modernisation, adaptation and development of the various segments that make up Spain’s tourist accommodation sector.
