BNP Paribas Real Estate and Therus Investment have announced a new strategic alliance to develop the Mediterráneo 44 hotel project, which will house the future MEININGER Hotel Madrid. This establishment will be located 500 metres from Retiro Park and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028.
The project has planning permission to build a hybrid hotel with 193 rooms and around 700 beds. With a total surface area of 7,300 sqm, the building will be rebuilt on the site of former offices in the Pacífico neighbourhood. This operation marks the third collaboration between Therus Investment and BNP Paribas Real Estate in Spain, following the development of the L'Oréal headquarters and the Alcalá 544 project, both also in Madrid.
The new establishment is part of the European expansion of the MEININGER Hotels chain. The brand is also preparing to open a hotel in Barcelona. Mediterráneo 44 symbolises BNP Paribas Real Estate's commitment to strengthening its presence in the European hotel market.
