B&B Hotels has opened a 150-room hotel in the San Fermín neighbourhood of Madrid, in the Usera district, bringing its total number of hotels in the Community of Madrid to 17. Nationwide, the chain now has 69 properties in Spain, plus a further 19 in Portugal.
The B&B Hotel Madrid San Fermín is housed in a five-storey building and has 67 parking spaces. The property is situated in the south of Madrid, in an area bounded by the River Manzanares, the M-30, Avenida de Andalucía and the M-40, with connections to both the city centre and the main motorways.
The project has been developed in partnership with Grupo Avintia using ‘ávita’, its industrialised construction system, as part of the strategic agreement both companies have maintained since 2021 to build around ten hotels in Spain, with an investment pipeline exceeding €100 million.
According to figures provided by Avintia, this system reduces construction times by up to 30%, while also cutting waste generated by up to 75%, saving water consumption by 20% and reducing the use of raw materials and concrete by up to 50%. It also helps to minimise noise and CO₂ emissions during the construction phase.
The hotel features a 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi, a buffet breakfast, coffee and tea available throughout the day, a pet-friendly policy, and rooms designed around the ‘Smart Simplicity’ concept, based on a functional approach aimed at both business travellers and leisure guests.
Jorge Zelada, Chief Development Officer at B&B Hotels Spain and Portugal, noted that Madrid remains one of the chain’s priority markets due to its appeal to tourists, business activity and transport links.
Roberto Campos, Managing Director of Avintia Inmobiliaria, emphasised that industrialised construction enables hotels to be developed with greater efficiency and control throughout the various stages of construction.
