El Corte Inglés held its 2025 General Shareholders' Meeting in Madrid, at which all the proposals presented by the Board of Directors were approved, including the re-election of Marta Álvarez as Chairman for a new five-year term. The meeting also ratified the continuity of Cristina Álvarez as director and José Ramón de Hoces as secretary director.
In her speech to the shareholders, Marta Álvarez reviewed the main lines of the 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, in force since 1 March. The plan envisages investments of more than 3,000 million euros during the period, aimed at remodelling shops, expanding businesses and reinforcing the group's logistical and technological capabilities. The president highlighted the group's objective of improving the customer experience and reinforcing its value proposition, underlining the role of service as a differentiating element. She also thanked the work of the group's team of professionals and reaffirmed the company's commitment to society.
In terms of results for the year ended 28 February 2025, the group achieved total revenues of EUR 16,665 million, up 2% year-on-year and 4.3% on a like-for-like basis. Consolidated EBITDA amounted to €1,209 million, up 11.9% year-on-year.
Profit before tax was 682 million euros and net profit reached 512 million euros, an increase of 6.7% compared to the previous year. Recurring net profit was EUR 470 million. Net financial debt was reduced by EUR 263 million to 1.5 times EBITDA.
