A total of 67 councils were analysed, from the coast of Girona, to Tarragona, Alicante, Murcia and finally Málaga.
From the ST Sociedad de Tasación census it has emerged that in these five ‘costas’ there is a total of 5,594 new housing units, evenly spread out along this part of the Spanish coast. The study shows that the further south the coast, the more houses are on offer, compared to those further north. Proof of this lies in the fact that the Costa del Sol is the shore with the most houses awaiting sale. According to the study, the Málaga coast has 2,482 new homes for sale, compared to 279 on the Costa Brava (Girona) or378 on the Costa Dorada (Tarragona). The Costa Blanca, in Alicante, has the second highest number of new homes for sale, with 2,110 units. On the Costa Cálida (Murcia) there were 345 homes.
On the Costa del Sol, the average price of a new home is 353.000 euros. This is considerably above the remaining ‘costas’ analysed, above the average for the five, at 210,760 euros.
