Active in the Balearic Islands’ markets, Andalusia and Alicante, Taylor Wimpey España registered a result of 24 million euros in 2016, more than double the 10 million recorded the previous year.
Behind these results is the growth in sales: in 2016 the firm sold 304 assets in Spain, at an average price of 358,000 euros. The year before, 215 houses were sold, with an average value of 315,000 euros. The majority of these properties were aimed at foreign buyers looking for a second home in Spain.
Quoted in the portal Spanish Real Estate, Pete Redfern, managing director of Taylor Wimpey, recognised that “our job is to function well, but if a good offer to buy comes up…our long term strategy may not be to continue in Spain”.
