The information was provided by the municipality on its Facebook page where it further informed the new student residence will be located in Azurém, 650 metres away from Universidade do Minho (Minho University). The project will consist in adapting a corporate unit into a «world reference student residence».
«The project, currently pending approval from the municipality, will have differentiated bedrooms, study and leisure areas, refectory, tv, cinema and gaming rooms, gym and launderette, amongst other conveniences», quoted Lusa.
This residence will be part of project Coletivo de Azurém, following international format Purpose Built Student Accommodation.
Construction should start in the Spring and it is expected to be concluded by the last quarter of 2022.
