Property sales render 10,700 million to seven Spanish banks

Coming from the Spanish Real Estate Press portal, these numbers do not reflect the losses of Bankia, which did not list the results of its real estate activity in its end of year report.

Sabadell was the leading bank in terms of sales, which rose to 2,691 million euros, followed by Santander, with 2.066 million euros and Popular, with 2,024 million. BBVA made 1,971million, while Caixa Bank‘s total was 1.33 million euros. Bottom of the ranking are Bankia and Bankiter, with results of sales at 481million and  135 million, respectively..

As for the losses, Popular led with 3,178 million, or rather a value three times more than those registered the previous year. They were followed by CaixaBank with a loss of 1,125 million euros, Sabadelle, at 908 million euros, BBVA with 595 million and Santander, with losses of 326 million.

It should be remembered that the cleaning carried out by Popular in the fourth trimester of 2016 led to losses of 2,456 million which, combined with the 721 million euros from losses accumulated in the previous three trimesters, caused the company to represent more than half of the losses registered by all the banks with listed real estate activity.
