Mountpark signed a new leasing deal with Carreras Grupo Logístico for an 85.624 sqm warehouse, the size of 12 football fields.
The warehouse is located within Plataforma Central Iberum in Illescas (Toledo), a distribution park where companies such as Amazon, Airbus, Michelin, Toyota, H&M and Zalando, amongst others, operate.
Mountpark Illescas was certified «Excellent» by sustainability certificate BREEAM.
«When we started the construction works almost a year ago, we did not yet know who would be our client. It was a strong bet we made on Illescas as a new logistic hub, in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula, and it shows our unbreakable confidence on the quality of our product. Now, less than a month after finishing the construction works, Carreras Grupo Logístico will be installed in the warehouse», pointed out John Derweduwe, director at Mountpark for Spain and Portugal.
With this warehouse, the company will have two logistic centres within Plataforma Central Iberum. Illescas II opened in 2018, with 44.000 sqm dedicated to e-commerce and reverse logistic activities.
Carreras has a warehouse network with a total combined area of 500.000 sqm spread across 46 centres in Spain, Italy, Portugal and France. The group carries out national and international transportation, storage, distribution and handling.
