Last year the REIT became a shareholder of Distrito Castellana Norte, following an agreement with San José. According to director Ismael Clemente, Operación Chanartín alone «will guarantee us activity for the next 40 years».
Merlin’s idea is to become one of the society’s major shareholders, so as to «provide the project with future economic viability from a commercial, instead of urban, point of view, since our goal, we never concealed it, is to remain forever», quoted EjePrime.
