Loom becomes the company’s flexible spaces’ brand, and its team will bring to Merlin Properties the know-how and experience it has in this field, which will offer new possibilities and solutions to the prime corporate clients who are already use Merlin’s offices.
Loom currently operates three flexible work spaces located in very central areas of Madrid, like Atocha (Real Fábrica de Tapices), Huertas 11 or Princesa 5. In total, Loom currently has 3.500 sqm and 460 work spaces with an average occupation of 80%. The typical user is an entrepreneur searching for a community and networking environment with a focus on creativity as are the cases of Newtral, Bridge for Billions or Graphext, and corportate clients looking for an innovative environment for special projects as is the case of the Comunidad de Madrid.
Merlin Properties’s plans for the next 12 years include reaching 13.000 sqm and starting to operate in Barcelona and Lisbon. In June, it will open a new space in Eucalipto 33 and the construction works for the “flagship” space Loom Salamanca have already begun, located at the heart of Barrio de Salamanca, it will open in September. It will have a disruptive design, capacity for 270 workspaces and a 500 sqm event space. The debut in Barcelona will be with 3 floors on the iconic Torre Glòries, and another 1.500 sqm in the Cornellá World Trade Center, both spaces are expected to be operational in October. Following these two spaces, Merlin will build a unique space in the heart of the technological district 22@, with a capacity for 260 workstations.
