Logistic investment in Spain reaches €1.302M until September

«From now until the end of the year, we predict that logistic investment will reach the same 1.500 million euro as 2018», clarified CBRE España’s national Industry & Logistics director Alberto Larrazábal.

Investment in logistic during the first three quarters of 2019 increased around 16% when compared to the previous year, when the segment had a 1.118 million investment, including portfolio operations. «When compared to last year, this year’s third quarter doubled the investment in logistics thanks to the acquisitions of large portfolios which were carried out», assures Larrazábal.

By type of assets, CBRE remarks that during this year’s first nine months the investors’ interest in Mid Cap operations increased in about 15% yoy, reaching around 145 million euro and representing around 11% of all logistic investment.

By areas, the Central Area (Community of Madrid and surrounding areas) and Catalonia remain the areas which received more logistic investment between January and September, around 48% (625 million euro) and 28% (359 million euro) of the total logistic investment in Spain, respectively. In third place, the Valencian Community received 7% of all logistic investment (84 million euro).

Amongst the most important logistic operations during the third quarter are the sale of Colonial’s portfolio to Prologis, as well as the sale of Pulsar Iberia Logistics’ portfolio and the purchase by KIC of Amazon.com’s warehouse at the el Prat.
