Already under construction, this investment is intended to «face the growth in terms of revenues and to provide a quicker response to the clients within the Greater Lisbon area», mentioned Dachser in a release. The new facilities should be operational by the start of 2022, when it will receive the 150 employees who currently work in Dachser’s plaform in Alverca do Ribatejo.
Designed from scratch and assuming a «state-of-the-art model», the new facilitieds cover a total area of 59.200 sqm, more than double the current facilities, «within a strategic area», in Castanheira do Ribatejo, «thus allowing a more direct connection to Dachser’s extensive, European land transport network», the company highlighted.
With 7.396 sqm destined for transportation services and 65 loading docks, the centre seeks to increase Dachser’s response within the domestic and European markets, allowing for a future expansion of 3.796 sqm and 40 additional loading docks. The project will also include a 1.411 sqm two-floor office building. When compared to the company’s current facilities in the Greater Lisbon area, this new centre will provide a larger parking area, with a capacity for 80 "swap bodies" and a waiting area capable of receiving 15 lorries.
