Between October and December, 648 million euro were invested, almost double the 363 million euro invested in the same quarter in 2017.
According to Anna Esteban, director at CBRE’s Barcelona’s office, «the total amount invested in 2018 confirms that the Catalan real estate sector remains an attractive investment destination. Investors trust in our market and this is reflected in the significant increases which make this one of our best years ever».
The office segment was the one that stood out the most in 2018, registering an investment volume of 947 million euro (42% of the whole) and 25% more than the previous year. The attractiveness of the Catalan office market was supported by Barcelona’s high contracting levels, where in 2018, 388.000 sqm were contracted, a number which, in the last twelve years, was only surpassed in 2015.
