Bain makes the best offer and takes the lead of the Habitat race

Responsible for the highest offer, Bain Capital is getting closer to become the new owner of Habitat. The fund has submitted a purchase offer that values Spanish real estate at €225 million, the highest so far and thus, position itself as the best offer presented to IREA, the company hired to guide the sale process.

According to several market sources, quoted by the Spanish business press, the current owners of the company (Capstone, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Värde and Marathon) are about to announce the winning proposal, which may happen this week.

If it has green light and win this competition, Bain Capital will become a new Spanish real estate giant with more than €3,600 million in assets.
